WHEEL WELLS

Poster board in action. At the left of the screen, in that corner, I replaced three pieces of metal in there. I guess about 6-8 inches long, Beside and in addition to the piece of poster board your looking at. The same old deal, grind out the spot welds, I used a dremel cut off wheel and a carbide burr to get those corner pieces out. I made templates out of poster board and put one piece of metal in at a time. I cut the holes in the poster board with an air punch to show you how I punched the metal.

What you're looking at here is two of pieces of new metal in the corner and the other piece that goes around the corner to the right. One piece of metal is quite a bit thicker than the other in the corner. That's the way it was made originally.

This a blow-up of the last picture. It shows the corner better where I welded the other piece of metal underneath the other two.

You can see where I also welded the long curved piece underneath the other piece by the rocker so it looks factory...kind of.

You can also see where I welded to the body around the corner. I blended most of the welds with a cut-off wheel and a carbide burr.

That's what the piece looked like that I put in there.
